Royal Park comprises
180 hectares of parklands two kilometres north of the city, set
out between Royal Parade and Flemington Road. It is Melbourne's
biggest park.
Although the parklands largely comprise sports ovals
and sporting fields, it is best known as the home of Melbourne's
Zoological Gardens, which are set out on 20
hectares. Trams and trains run through Royal Park. The Royal Park
Railway Station is situated next to the Zoo and trams also run to
the Zoo.
